Independence Day Celebrations at the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai

The 71st Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka was celebrated at the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai with the participation of Sri Lankan Students in Pune, Sri Lanka Navy Trainees and the Sri Lankan Community in Mumbai on 4th February 2019.

Sri Lanka Tourism Minister inaugurates the India International Travel and Tourism (IITT) Exhibition 2019, Mumbai

 

Hon. John Amarathunga, Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Affairs inaugurated the India International Travel and Tourism (IITT) Exhibition 2019 in Mumbai.  Hon. Minister was the Chief Guest at the opening Ceremony of the 3-day exhibition which is a leading travel, tourism and hospitality exhibition in India that covers all aspects of tourism.

Consul General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai pays a courtesy call on Governor of Goa

Consul General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai Chamari Rodrigo paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Goa Smt. Mridula Sinha at the Raj Bhavan, the latter’s official residence in Goa on 3 January 2019. The courtesy call was followed by the Consul General's meetings with Chief Secretary of Goa, Parimal Rai and Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism Sheo Pratap Singh on 4 January 2019 to initiate a joint collaboration between Sri Lanka and Goa in the Tourism sector.

Christmas Celebrations in Mumbai

Christmas Celebrations with Carols, organized by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai were held on 21 December 2018 at the consulate premises. Sri Lanka Navy officials in ‘Ashvini’ & ‘Hamla’ Naval Academy in Mumbai participated in the event.

Ceylon Tea Tasting at the World Tea & Coffee Expo 2018 in Mumbai

A delegation from Sri Lanka Tea Industry participated in the World Tea & Coffee Expo 2018, an annual gathering of tea professionals, held in Mumbai from29 November – 01 December 2018. The Sri Lanka delegation consisted of officials from the Sri Lanka Tea Board as well as representatives from Chelcey Holdings and Lumbini Tea Exports Pvt. Ltd.

Sri Lanka Consulate participates in the World Trade Expo 2018 in Mumbai

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai participated in the World Trade Expo (WTE) 2018, organised by the World Trade Centre Mumbai (WTC) and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) from 29-30 October 2018.

Foreign Minister Amunugama says "no justification for the changing Travel Advisories"

Foreign Minister Dr.SarathAmunugama, said that there was nojustification for the Travel Advisories issued by a few countries,since there have been no incidents of violence ordisruption in the country following the recent events. The Tourism sector has not been subject to any inconvenience.

Sri Lanka Consulate in Mumbai holds a briefing Session on ‘Boat Show and Boating Festival 2018’

A briefing session on the Sri Lanka ‘Boat Show and Boating Festival 2018’ was held at the Sri Lanka Consulate in Mumbai on 05 October 2018 to create awareness among the Indian business community on the upcoming Boat Show and Boating Festival to be held at the Yacht Marina of the Port of Galle, Sri Lanka from 26-28 October 2018.

Sri Lankan Business Delegation explores export opportunities in Mumbai

A 10-member SME business delegation from the Sri Lanka Export Development Board(EDB) was in Mumbai from 26 September – 02 October 2018 to visit the “Annapoorna - World Food of India 2018”, organized by Koelnmesse YA Tradefair Pvt. Ltd.from 27-29 September 2018 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre.

Sri Lankan Food Festival at the Leela Mumbai showcases Sri Lanka’s best kept culinary secrets

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai hosted a ten day Food Festival at The Leela Mumbai from 30 August to 8 September 2018 to showcase authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The Food Festival was a part of the series of events that the Consulate organises to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Diplomatic relations between India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka High Commissioner’s visit to Mumbai highlights the new Economic opportunities in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is focusing on leveraging its strategic location to position the country as ‘the Hub of the Indian Ocean’, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in New Delhi Chitranganee Wagiswara said at a business gathering attended by over 125 Business Partners in the World Trade Center in Mumbai. Addressing the members of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and the World Trade Center, High Commissioner Wagiswara, who was on an official visit to Mumbai from 13-14 June 2018 invited Indian entrepreneurs to invest in increasingly vibrant business environment in Sri Lanka. She elaborated on the new reforms and benefits that could be derived by making use of the opportunities available in the business sector.
