The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) to archive best Sri Lankan Movies

The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) in Pune is ready to preserve Sri Lankan movies in their archiving Facility. Following the discussions held between Sri Lanka Consul General in Mumbai Chamari Rodrigo and Head of the NFAI Prakash Magdum, in December 2020 regarding possible collaboration between India & Sri Lanka in the area of film archiving and restoration, NFAI would collaborate in archiving 20-30 Sri Lankan movies.

B2B Meetings to Connect Sri Lankan Exporters of Avocado & Passion Fruit with High-End Supermarkets in Mumbai

The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai together with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) successfully connected Sri Lankan fresh fruits exporters (avocado and passion fruit) with high-end supermarkets in Mumbai through virtual B2B meetings on 11 February 2021. This was a follow up discussion on the programme launched by the Consulate in September 2020 to promote & diversify Sri Lanka’s Agri products to the Indian Market in line with the Government’s Export Economic Policy.

“Sri Lanka opens its doors to the World” announced at the Travel Trade Awareness Session in Mumbai

A virtual awareness session for the Travel Trade in the Western India was held on 19 January 2021 to announce the re-opening of Sri Lanka for international tourists from 21st January 2021. This was the first awareness session organized for the Indian Market to inform of Sri Lanka’s re-opening and the “safety protocols” associated with the re-opening the country for tourists.

Sri Lanka, a Window to Larger Markets of India & EU for Agri Products & Processed food – Sri Lankan Agripreneurs

A programme to promote Sri Lankan Agri products and Processed Food in the Indian market was launched in Mumbai a week ago to implement President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Export Economic Policy.

Accordingly, a webinar on “India - Sri Lanka Current Business Environment and Opportunities for Joint Collaborations for Agri and Processed Food Sector”, organized by the Sri Lanka Consulate in Mumbai in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce [CCC] and IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IMC), Mumbai was held on 29th September 2020. This was the first online forum targeting to promote & diversify Sri Lanka’s Agri products and Processed Food to the Indian market.

India -Sri Lanka friendship promoted through common appreciation of Western Classical Music

The 72nd Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka was celebrated in a special event organized by the Sri Lanka Consulate General office in Mumbai on 26th February 2020 at the prestigious Tata Theatre of the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.

Christmas Celebrations in Mumbai

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai held its Annual Christmas Celebrations on 20th December 2019 at the Mission Premises. The event was attended by a large gathering of Sri Lankans representing Sri Lanka Navy, Army, Air force Officials and trainees in Maharashtra State, Sri Lankan Students in Pune and the Senior State Officials.

A visit by the SME Exporters of Sri Lanka to Mumbai for “Production Process Improvement & Market Penetration” Programme

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai in collaboration with the Export Development Board (EDB), Sri Lanka organized a “Production Process Improvement and Market Penetration Programme” for SME exporters of Sri Lanka in Mumbai recently. The objective of this programme was to nurture and promote new entrepreneurs for the International market by learning the experience of SME sector in India.

Sri Lankan Automobile Component Manufacturers undertook an Advance Technical Training at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, India

The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai together with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) organized a Tailor-made Technical training and exposure programme for the Sri Lankan Automobile Component Manufacturers / Exporters at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), recently.

Sri Lanka Pavilion at “World Trade Expo” in Mumbai showcases the popular Sri Lankan Brands

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai participated at “World Trade Expo 2019” together with popular Sri Lankan brands in India to widen its market access further. The World Trade Centre (WTC), Mumbai and All India Association of Industries (AIAI) hosted the 3rd edition of their flagship event in Mumbai, bringing together Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) from 6 Indian States, trade development officials and 30 participating countries.

Sri Lanka Tourism Delegation invites Indian Travel Trade to “join force to bring Sri Lanka back on Track & even beyond’’

The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai together with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) organized two MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences, Exhibitions) promotion events on 13th & 15th November 2019 in Mumbai & in Pune respectively. This was the first time that a series of MICE promotion events has taken place in the Western India to promote Sri Lanka as an ideal destination for global corporate events.

An Indian Business Delegation explores Business Opportunities in Sri Lanka

A delegation from the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) undertook a visit to Sri Lanka from 11 to 17 September 2019 to explore business opportunities in Sri Lanka especially in the field of Gem and Jewellery. The seven member business delegation represented a wide range of Industries including Textile, Gem & Jewellery, Energy, Chemicals, Agriculture & Solar Energy and Furniture.

A Media Team representing leading Indian Newspapers and International Tourism Journals visits Sri Lanka

As part of the Media campaign launched by the Sri Lanka Consulate General Office in Mumbai following the Easter Sunday Attack, a nine (9) member Media Team is visiting Sri Lanka from 28 August to 02 September 2019. The Media Team includes Journalists from leading Indian National Newspapers such as ‘Times of India’, ‘Indian Express’, Regional Newspapers and the prominent International Tourism Journals ‘Lonely Planet’ and ‘National Geographic’.

Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai together with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) organized a Press Conference for the Mumbai based media, and an Interactive Session for Travel Trade in the Western India on 24 June 2019 to announce “Sri Lanka’s new tourism strategy for the Indian Market”.
